Dear Bakmie lovers..
We are sorry to announce that we have decided to shut down our IMM Jurong operations, due to disagreements and disappointing experience with the food court operator.
However, our Orchard Centrepoint outlet is going on strong!!!! and we are turning it into a no pork no lard outlet hence we can still serve a bigger market. (www.jiakbakmee.blogspot.com)
Thank you so much for your support these 2 yrs in Jurong.

We got Married at MAKAN BAKMIE

Because our bakmie stall at IMM Jurong means so much to us and our family,

Me and My husband/business partner/colleague decided to pay our stall a visit on our wedding day! 8 August 2009

This is us : Marcelly and Eu-Tjin. We visit the stall a few times a week, if you see us, say HI! =)

Hopefully one day, the small venture will become one beautiful story.

We hope that more people in Singapore ( Indonesians or not) will get to try a bit of our mom's home cooking that we love sooooooooooo much.

By the way, we're thinking of adding more dishes to the menu (related to bakmie one), what do you think?

THE ONE AND ONLY IN SINGAPORE

On behalf of the MAKAN BAKMIE Team, I would like to say my most heartfelt

"TERIMA KASIH"

to the many many of you who have come to our stall and come back and come back with friends. Thank you for your support!
It makes us feel that all the hardwork is so worthwhile.
However, more than 60% of our customers are Indonesians. Although that proves that our bakmie is authentic, it also means that we need to reach out to more non-Indonesians too.

As of now, We are proud to announce that MAKAN BAKMIE is

THE ONE AND ONLY AUTHENTIC BAKMIE STALL IN THE WHOLE OF SINGAPORE.

**Authentic bakmie means curly Indonesian noodles own-made the way bakmie should be. So.... Be kiasu and give us a try!!

Here's us, Adi and his Indonesian friends!!

You mean Bakmie is not our BEST SELLER?

More often than not.

A couple of chirpy Indonesians come to our stall and order:
"One Bakmie Pangsit Goreng with Bakso, please"

But, what's amazing is, after 10 mins, they come and say :
"Can I have 6 more Pangsit Goreng on its own please?"

To top it all, before they go home:
"Can you help take away bakmie with another 6 Pangsit Goreng please?"

(Pangsit Goreng : Fried Indonesian Dumplings)

Walauwee..so good ah?

If you are not having cough or sorethroat, you may want to try the Pangsit Goreng.

Don't forget it's Authentic Sweet and Sour dipping sauce too!

However, if you come after busy lunch hours, sometimes, the Pangsit Goreng may not be as crunchy anymore. So, we are trying to fry every hourly and pace it instead.

Let us know your feedback..

See you at MAKAN BAKMIE!

THANK YOU!!!

We've had many visitors for the first week, and guess what?
(No prize for guessing) Mostly Indonesians!!!

Their feedbacks are most accurate!
We received many valuable feedbacks!
So far, the Indonesians feel that our own-made Bakmie and Pangsit are very very AUTHENTIC... YAY!!!

We have however, decided to make our Pangsit skin thinner, so the Pangsit Goreng will be crunchier and the Pangsit Rebus more savoury.
Also, the blog was a bit too dark.. so I've changed it to brighter colour..better now ?? =)

Our previous pictures were also, sorry to say, unappetizing..

We have many Indonesian customers coming back with many friends, but we had problem getting the Singaporeans to try BAKMIE.. Hmm.. At first I was puzzled at how unadventurous Singaporeans can be. But then I realised..I am sure that Singaporeans are adventurous, especially with Indonesian Food! BUT! We HAD to CHANGE our pictures to more APPETIZING ones!!

SOOOOOOOOO........(Drumrolll... )

I'd like to now present you our new MENU with new photoes!

Pangsit anyone???

MMMMmmmm..........

Add extra sides???

Looks good?

Come on down to

IMM JURONG Level 3

BAGUS Food Court ya! See you there!

Our Bakmie Companiments - What are They?

As you can see, eating bakmie on its own is a little lonely.

Hence, we bring to you, bakmie's good friends. to choose from

Let me introduce one by one.

1. Pangsit Goreng (Fried Indonesian Dumpling):

Yum Yum!!!

A classic Favourite back in Indo, here's Fried Indonesian Dumpling.

Huge, Crispy and addictive.

It comes with sweet and sour dipping sauce. Must try!

Some of us totally fall in love with the sweet and sour sauce.

So some prefer to drip it all over the pangsit.

Can you resist??

2. Pangsit Rebus (Boiled Indonesian Dumpling)

Similar but not quite the same.
For the wanton lovers and the oil-conscious, the boiled one may tickle your fancy.

Soft, yet chewy and savoury in the middle.
The fragrance of sesame oil burst in your mouth with each bite.

3. Bakso Ikan (Fish Ball).

Bouncy and fresh.

Fish balls may brighten up your day.

4 & 5. Bakso Sapi (Beef Balls)

BAKSO? Hmm...
Goes a loooong way back where they sell bakso in the push carts back home.

Always makes us Indons feel closer to home.

It comes both boiled and fried and each may interest you on different days. The boiled one is more traditional and an all-time favourtie.

The fried one is saltier and a tad more sinful yet exciting..

6. Chicken Katsu

This is a little new.

A little exciting too.

Mommy thought of it a while back and it was a hit amongst the visitors.

Say Hi to a new friend from Japan!

Katsu with your bakmie? Why not?

This is a must try too!

So, remember to choose your bakmie's friends when you visit us!

Cheerios!
